Brushes are such a personal thing. You can spend a lot of money trying to find just the right watercolor brush. My absolute favorite, hands down, brush is a sable and synthetic blend. the Dreamcatcher series set from cheapjoes.com. I love the that the brushes hold lots of water, have lots of spring and keep their point.
I never use my 100% sable brushes anymore.
My favorite size is 14 and 8.

Simple Magnolia 30X22

"Simple Magnolia" 30x22 by Terry Moss

This original watercolor painting was posted a few years ago. It is still a favorite of mine.
I hope you can see that you can add color to white flowers for interest. I think it is much more interesting that just pure white.

You can now get prints of this painting any size or format at fineart

"Wellsville Canal" 5X7 pastel on sanded paper

"Wellsville Canal"       5X7      pastel       Terry Moss       $120
Painted on archival sanded paper

Brought out my pastels today. It has been a long time but I managed to paint four small paintings today. There is something about the earthiness of pastel that lends itself to landscapes. I love to use them to paint rural areas and especially marshes and small creeks. Can be purchased on my Etsy

What a pear!

"Beautiful  Pear" 5X7 watercolor on Yupo

I have been experimenting painting on Yupo paper and having a great time. Yupo is a smooth surfaced plastic paper. The paint sits on the surface and puddles until it is dry.  The watercolor paint is easily removed to regain the white of the paper. As you see I have applied splatters of paint after the paint is almost dry as well as water splatters when the paint was wet.

These paintings are a result of a series of pear studies.
