Cropping magic

Sometimes you come up with a painting that lacks a little but with a little cropping it works.

This painting had too much information in the background. After a little creative cropping your eye now focuses on the main subject, the boats.

Black and White Cow

This painting was done a while ago but I realized it was not on my blog. The original was painted with acrylic with lots of texture underneath. This has been a favorite.

As you have noticed I don't limit myself to just one medium or subject. I can't help it. I have to paint what mooves me.

Audrey's Roses

My Grand-daughter was in her first dance recital last May.  Her Dad bought her these stunning roses. She was so happy to get them so I snapped several photos to document the occasion.  I printed out a photo of them the other day because I was teaching how to paint flowers in my class this month.
I couldn't resist painting these pink beauties.

Latest pastel painting

Pastel Landscape 8X10 image.

I enjoy painting with pastels. I love the soft look that I can achieve when I use them with water in the beginning stages of the painting. I will then let the painting dry and place more pastel over the top to add detail and color intensity.  I hope you enjoy my latest work of art.

Rusty Red Truck

Original Watercolor by Terry Moss  16X20 image.

I wanted to show you the process I went through to paint "Rusty Red Truck"

I started with a photo that I took outside of Afton WY. this past summer. We were driving along and enjoying the beautiful day and passed this truck in the field. We looked at each other and my husband said, "Do you want  me to go back?"  Yep, I said.  The sky was so fabulous that I could not stop taking photos.

I started the painting with a wash of Cadium Yellow Pale. I then started the sky.

The sky was so amazing I wanted to get it right. I used Cobalt and Phalo Turquoise, saving as much white as I could.

I  blocked in the truck and if anyone knows how I paint, I had to get some dark's in right away.

Warm colors in the back ground and now I am set for the details, and strengthening the colors.

More color and detail. It proved to be quite tricky as I started to paint the worn paint. I also added trees in the back ground.
The grasses proved be be difficult but finally I got the hang of it.

Close up of the fender and headlight.

Almost done, just a little more color and sharpening up a few spaces.
